Letter to a friend

I collect old linen and cottons from the flee markets. I cut and stitch together
new shapes that becomes windows opening both ways-in and out.
This space becomes a sounding board for my practice of painting
where I place a vocabulary, elements of my life.
Objects that speak from nature has followed my life as references,
some living on shelves for years or in boxes, until the perfect match happens,
finding their way into a particular group of work that require a special setting.
Special treats! Like a meal for the day
that makes me happy and singing (because it makes sense- no sense)
Some objects take courage to open, because of the impact it has on me.
Emotional in the sense of being touched; like markers from life,
taking out stories that has been lived,
fragments that are whole in themselves, patching them into a large carpet of now.
